Matt Vian has been a financial advisor since 2014. He founded his fiduciary registered investment advisory firm, Northsight Wealth Management, in 2018.
“I decided to start my own company so that I could provide my clients with advice that was always in their best interests. When I worked at a major brokerage at the beginning of my financial services career, we always had ‘sales’ goals and were told to steer clients toward company products. We had a very limited number of strategies available.
“I have a different vision. We are not salespeople, we are advisors. Each of our clients deserves a plan that is tailored for them, their business, and their goals. That’s what we do. We provide a universe of strategies, including advanced tax strategies. Our goal is to deliver reliable and consistent guidance no matter where our clients are headed, which is why we incorporated the North Star into our name Northsight Wealth Management, as well as our logo. We are here for you when you need financial guidance or lose your sense of direction.” says Matt.
Originally from San Diego, Matt moved to Flagstaff when he was 11 years old. He attended Arizona State University where he obtained his degree in interdisciplinary studies, with an emphasis in business and communications. In the past, Matt held a Series 7 and Series 66 license, but as a true financial fiduciary, he now maintains only his Series 65 license.
Matt is a Marine Corps veteran. Even as a child, he had always wanted to serve our country. While in the USMC, most of his time was spent in Japan as an artilleryman. His ability with mathematics and his accuracy in calculating angles and trajectories led to his assignment aiming heavy-duty, ground-based long-range weaponry. During his time in Japan, he also learned to speak Japanese and acquired a love for sushi.
In his free time, Matt likes to race dirt bikes, ride mountain bikes, road bike, run, travel and volunteer. He is former president of the Financial Planning Association’s FPA NexGen of Greater Phoenix. He is an ambassador for AZ Helping Hands and sponsors AMRA Racing.
